VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Monday nights Vigo County School Board meeting was the last for Dr. Danny Tanoos as Superintendent.
His retirement from that position become effective July 1st.
His complete retirement from the school corporation takes effect at the end of the year.
Tanoos has been with the school system as a teacher and administrator for nearly 40 years with the last 20 as superintendent.
Tanoos said that all that he has done has been with the students in mind.
He said that he apologized to anyone he has offended over the years but said that his priority was trying to do what was best for the kids.
Tanoos will spend the next few months helping his replacement Dr. Robert Haworth, get settled in his new role.
Tanoos said that he hasn’t decided what will come next after this chapter comes to an end.
