PARKE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces a slide correction project will close State Road 59 between the Clay/Parke County Line Road and C.R. 700 East on or after Tuesday, July 10.
This slide correction project will stabilize the slope by constructing a reinforced soil slope wall system. This will involve excavating the side slope to a depth of approximately 15 ft. below the roadway elevation and replacing a pipe structure.
The detour follows State Road 59 to U.S. 36 to U.S. 231 to U.S. 40 and back. The roadway is scheduled to reopen September 18.
