VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A Vigo County man received a suspended sentence and credit for time served in connection with the death of his disabled 5-year-old daughter in 2016.

34 year old Brian Moseman pleaded guilty to two counts of neglect of a dependent in Vigo Superior Court Tuesday.

In exchange for his plea he was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on each count.

He was given credit for time already served while awaiting trial, with the remainder to be served on formal probation.

An autopsy the day after the child died showed the child’s death was pneumonia and malnutrition. The girl was only 16 pounds at the time of her death.

Back in September Tiffany Daugherty, the girl’s mother, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with another six years to be served in community corrections.

Moseman was the boyfriend of Daugherty and the father of her children.
