TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Saturn Petcare Inc. has put a bid into the Vigo County redevelopment commission to buy the old Pfizer building in southern Vigo County and bring hundreds of jobs to the area.
On Tuesday, the redevelopment commission met with 2 representatives from Saturn Petcare.
Saturn is a company that makes and distributes dog and cat food and they want to place a new manufacturing facility on the property.
Saturn’s bid was for just $1, but the redevelopment commission must wait at least 30 days before they can accept the offer.
Saturn Petcare said they hope in the first 5 years to hire at least 200 people at a starting salary of a little more than $18 an hour.
If they do get approved their plan is to start production by 2020.
