ROCKVILLE, Ind – The Rockville Police Department will be accepting applications for the full time position of Patrolman to be hired at the First of 2019. Applications deadline will be December 7, 2018.
Salary and Benefits:
- A police Officer for the Town of Rockville works 12 hour shifts that work a rotating schedule so that they have every other weekend off.
- They are provided a vehicle for police work and take home if reside close to town
- Uniforms and Equipment provided
- The current salary for a Patrolman is $35,500.00 for 2019 and is expected to rise following a 1 year probationary period.
- Opportunities to earn overtime pay on extra duty requests.
- Medical insurance in which they pay 10% of premium unless they are a tobacco user then it is 15% of the premium for individual and family plans.
- $25,000.00 life insurance policy and dental and eye care insurance are available.
- 1977 Police & Fire Public Employees Retirement Fund.

- Paid holidays each year.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not reached the age of 37 to be enrolled into the 77 Police PERF
- Successfully fill out and submit a written application for employment
- Pass a Written exam
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Pass a Background investigation
- Be able to pass a physical and mental examination to be enrolled in the Retirement plan
- Pass a physical agility tests as required to attend and successfully complete the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy within their first year of employment or having provided an approved completion of the ILEA basic academy or accepted equivalency.
