TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A police chase ended with a crash south of 1st and Poplar Streets.

It all started a little after 2:00 Saturday morning when Vermillion County police tried to stop a driver for speeding.

It ended with the driver crashing into a tree and the car continued onto the Vectren property and into a fence.

The driver jumped out and ran away and has not been found.
