VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A Terre Haute teen accused of shooting and killing a friend at a party in his home was in court Monday.

19 year old Nathan Derickson will now stand trial March 18.

He has been on home detention since being accused of shooting and killing 17 year old William Garrett Sands during a party at a home in the Idle Creek subdivision.

He says that the shooting was accidental.

Derickson’s attorney asked for a new trial date due to a conflict with another trial.
