SULLIVAN, Ind – Sullivan County Sheriff’s officers were called to a crash Friday morning on US 41 near CR 200 South.
Officers say that a dump truck had turned northbound onto US 41, from CR 200 South and as it was picking up speed, a northbound semi tractor-trailer struck the dump truck from behind.
The driver of the semi was driven by 47 year old John Lewis of Lafayette.
He was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews.
Lewis was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital with possible broken bones and internal injuries. He was last listed in stable condition.
The dump truck driver, 27year old Lucas Shew of Sullivan, refused treatment.
Northbound US 41 was closed for 90 minutes as crews cleaned up the scene.
Police say that no charges will be filed.
