TELL CITY, Ind – Authorities in Tell City say an overnight house fire has killed three children in the small southern Indiana town along the Ohio River.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security says multiple people were inside the home when the fire broke out early this morning (Friday).

The agency says three children died as a result of the fire. WFIE-TV reports that fire officials say the three victims were under age 12.

Three other people were taken to an area hospital following the fire. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal is investigating to find a cause.

Tell City is in Perry County which is between Louisville and Evansville.
