CLINTON, Ind.  – A section of Indiana 163 between Clinton and Lyford was closed for several hours Sunday morning.

Clinton Police report that a suicidal person was in a car near the river with a rifle.

Eventually the person was persuaded to empty the gun, he then placed it in the car seat, got out and surrendered to police.

The person was taken to a hospital for evaluation and no one was injured.
