PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Police have released more information on a Thursday morning fire in Parke County.

Around 5:00 a.m. emergency crews were called out to a fire in a home and detached garage located at 10179 S. Sherfick Lane in rural Rosedale.

Parke County Sheriff Justin Cole said that a body was located in the residence which was later identified as the homeowner, 51 year old Joseph Collester.

Cole says that the fire scene investigation and death investigation are complete.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday afternoon at Regional Hospital.

Results of the investigation show that Collester had set fire to his garage and then his residence and the committed suicide with a firearm.
