TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A Terre Haute mother is being held in the Vigo County Jail on $20,000 bond after being accused of child neglect.
35 year old Shanah Howell and her boyfriend are accused of abuse, neglect, and drug use.
One of the children told investigators Howell told her boyfriend to hit them.
It is reported that Howell kept the child locked in a bedroom for up to a month and forced the child to use a bucket for a toilet.
She is set to go to trail December 17th and will be back in court on Monday for a bond reduction hearing.
A DCS report shows the agency was called to the home several times for meth use in the past year.
