CLAY COUNTY, Ind.  – A Thursday night crash has left a Brazil man dead.

It happened just before 9:00 p.m. on the Cory/Staunton Road near State Road 42 in Clay County.

The vehicle found by police had crashed into a utility pole and was being driven by 32-year-old Anthony Moran.

Police said Moran died on the scene of the crash.

A passenger from the vehicle was walking around in what appeared to be a confused state when officers arrived.

That passenger was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment.

The investigation is still on-going, but police believe that speed and alcohol may have played a part in the crash.
