WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The coronavirus is a major concern for Purdue University.

Purdue University is one of four Indiana colleges that are not allowing students or staff to travel to China for the time being. IU, Ball State, and Notre Dame have joined Purdue in the decision.

Purdue is attempting to get six students home safe from Shanghai, even covering travel costs for the students. No cases of the coronavirus have been reported at Purdue or anywhere else in the Hoosier state. Eleven cases of the disease have been confirmed in the U.S. thus far.

So far, the local schools in the Wabash Valley, Indiana State University, Rose- Hulman Institute of Technology, St. Mary of the Woods College and Ivy Tech Community College  have not indicated that they are or will prohibiting travel to China at this time.
