VIGO COUNTY – The Vigo County Health Department says that they are expecting a surge in coronavirus-related cases. With that in mind they are reminding everyone that they should be wearing a mask when out in public. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is in high demand already so they are asking for your help.
If you would like to make a mask to donate to the community they will have a tote outside the North side of the Vigo County Annex building from Monday-Friday 9:30a.m.-3:30p.m. They have also teamed up with some grocery stores to have bins available at the entrances for mask donations. The bins can be found at Kroger (North), Kroger (Wabash), Kroger (South), West Vigo IGA, and Baesler’s. Each bin has instruction sheets provided at the top for those who need them.
Here is a pattern that you can use to make a mask. https://freesewing.org/fu-facemask-freesewing.org.a4.pdf . There are also many YouTube videos and tutorials online.
If you are in need of masks please contact the Vigo County Health Department.
