Police Release Name Of Suspect In Tuesday Night Chase

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Police in West Terre Haute have released the name of the person who led them on a chase Tuesday.

Officers pulled over 24-year-old Jacob Tyler Rentaukas around 11:20 p.m. as they investigated a report of reckless driving in the 800 block of West National Avenue.

After handing his license to officers he took off.

The chase continued into Terre Haute where police used stop sticks at 1st Street and Ohio.

The tires on the vehicle were punctured but the chase continued until the truck crashed into the gate at Deming Park.

Police say that Rentaukas fired shots at them during the chase.

After crashing at the Deming Park gates, Rentaukas fled on foot and has not yet been found.
