INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health is reminding building owners to be sure and flush out water pipes before reopening to the public.  Officials say that harmful bacteria and other material may be present after sitting for a while.

The Indiana State Department of Health and the Department of Environmental Management have both issued guidance on properly flushing water systems as retail businesses reopen following closures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When properties are in use then there is constant flushing but when unused water supplies could stagnate.

Contact the State Department of Health if you have questions.  You can read the guide below.  Click on the guide to download it.
