PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind – A Friday morning crash has claimed the life of a Brazil man.

34-year- old Levi Dotson was traveling Manhattan Road in Putnam County when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the road and hit a utility pole.

Witnesses told police that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash.

The car caught fire and Sheriff’s Deputies, an off duty Indiana State Police Trooper and other motorists who were first on the scene managed to put out the fire.

Police say that Dotson had succumbed to his injuries before he was able to be freed from the vehicle.
