VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – On Saturday a group of about 50 people marched through downtown Terre Haute to ask for criminal justice reforms.
Two groups were represented, the “Reform Movement of Terre Haute” and “Change of Terre Haute.”
Organizers credited the Vigo County School Corporation for firing a school protection officer who made posts on social media that some called racist.
Protesters are now calling on the sheriff, John Plasse, to fire the deputy as well.
Plasse had said last week that even though he may not agree with the posts they did not violate department policy.
