Paramore have shared the video for their song “The News,” directed by Mike Kluge and Matthew DeLisi, from their upcoming album, This Is Why. In the video, Hayley Williams appears as someone who has been overwhelmed by continuous TV watching and screen time, donning a “Turn Off” sweatshirt at different points while an alter ego baits her about her viewing habits. You can watch the video clip – here.

Paramore’s Hayley Williams said in a press release: “‘The News’ is one of those songs that came together pretty quickly and felt exciting from the start. It feels like a happy medium between classic Paramore angst and bringing in some influences we’ve always had but never exploited. Watching Zac [Farro] track drums for this one was one of my favorite memories from the studio. Lyrically, it probably explains itself. The 24-hour news cycle is just impossible to comprehend. And I feel a pang of guilt when I unplug to protect my headspace. The common reaction, or non-reaction, seems to be dissociation. Not one of us is innocent of that and who could blame us?”  ‘The News’ is available to download – here.

Paramore’s LP This Is Why will drop Feb. 10, and you can currently pre-order the album here. Paramore will also be hitting the road in support of their new music again in 2023, featuring support from Bloc Party, Foals and more. For ticket info, head – here.
