A routine stop leads to arrest and seizure of a pound of meth

Sullivan County – A pound of methamphetamine and precursors to manufacture more methamphetamine were discovered by Indiana State Police during a routine traffic stop.

This afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., a 2005 Ford Mustang was stopped for an equipment malfunction violation on County Road 200 East near County Road 650 North in Sullivan County.

While talking to the driver, Edward D. Beegle, 52, of Shelburn, the trooper became suspicious and the vehicle was searched.

Approximately one pound of methamphetamine and precursors were found in the vehicle.

Beegle was arrested on three drug charges. He is being held in the Sullivan County Jail.
