5 DEAD DURING CRASH WHERE SEMITRUCK LEAKS AMMONIA

Teutopolis, Il. – Hundreds of residents in Teutopolis, Illinois which is just east of Effingham on U.S. 40, were able to go back to their homes after they had to evacuate for about 24 hours. A semitruck carrying ammonia went off U.S. 40 and ended up in a ditch Friday night, which led to a chemical leak. A father and two young children are among five dead from the accident, while five others are critically injured. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
