Kidnapping Investigation Leads to Arrest

CLAY COUNTY, Indiana (DLC Media) – A Hammond man has been arrested following a call to Clay County dispatch from a woman who claimed to have been kidnapped. The woman called to report that she had been kidnapped from her Hammond home by a man identified as 64-year-old William Francisco. She had claimed that she was beaten to the point in which she had become unconscious on numerous accounts during the drive to Clay County.

Police arrived to the area that the 911 call was made and found the woman caller inside of a black pickup truck which was in a ditch on the side of the road. The vehicle had died on the side of the road and was left behind. Around 100 yards from the scene, Francisco was located under a tree. Francisco was taken into custody and now faces charges kidnapping (level 5 felony) and Domestic Battery Charges (level 5 felony).
