Torch Run Precedes Opening Of Special Olympics This Weekend

Terre Haute, In. – The Indiana Special Olympic Games open this weekend on the Campus of Indiana State University.  This past Friday members of local law enforcement agencies participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. The 3-mile Terre Haute run began at noon Friday on the Indiana State University campus and took participants throughout campus.  The torch will be used to light the caldron during the opening ceremony Friday at Hulman Center. More than 2,100 Special Olympians and Unified partners will gather on the ISU campus for this year’s games. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m. with the parade of athletes.
