Terre Haute Man Arrested In Gibson Co.

Gibson County, In. – Police in Gibson County have arrested a Terre Haute man after driving at speeds near 100mph.  Joseph Smock, 20, of Terre Haute was clocked at 98 mph in a 60-mph zone on U.S. 41 in Gibson County.  Police said after Smock was stopped, they could smell the aroma of marijuana coming from the car. Smock and his passenger were taken into investigative custody.  Smock gave the police a fake name, trying to avoid several Vigo County warrants he was wanted for.  Smock was charged with Refusal to Identify, Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number, Dealing Cocaine, Possession of Schedule Drug.  The Vigo County warrants on him were for: Dealing Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Meth and Possession of a Schedule Drug.
