Terre Haute, In. – The cyber attack on the Clay County Courthouse has prompted the Vigo County IT team to release a statement concerning Vigo Counties preparedness in the event there is a cyber attack on their systems. Vigo county experienced such an attack in 2019 and since then the IT Team has made sweeping investments in our cyber defense and incident response procedures. Notable additions and improvements include upgraded endpoint security and advanced detection suites specifically designed to detect ransomware heuristics, quarterly anti-phishing trainings by an industry-leading partner, and an expanded and comprehensive array of onsite and offsite backup stores. While there is no defense guarantee in cyber security, they say they are focused on ensuring the health and security of county data and systems.
