Riley, In. – Phase one of The Riley Spur Trail has begun construction. The land the trail will follow was once a railroad right of way. Crews have started laying the gravel base on the first phase from Louisville road to Lama road. After this is complete, they will start laying down asphalt. The plan is to create more than five miles of paved multi-use trail and eventually connect Riley to Rea Park in Terre Haute. A grant of nearly $2 million from Next Level Trails from the state has made the trail possible.
