Terre Haute, In. – Monday evening a caucus of Precinct Committee persons selected Derek Fell to fill the term of Sheriff John Plasse.  Plasse passed away after a battle with cancer last month.  Fell was sworn in by a Vigo County Judge on Monday evening.  Sheriff Fell was Chief of Operations for the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.  Fell will be eligible to run for two full terms in the future.
