Prairieton, In. – Recently the Community Action Group, Keep the Prairie in Prairieton, held a meeting for residents to discuss the concerns about Dollar General building a store in the community. Back on October 8^th the Vigo County Commissioners tabled the rezoning of land in Prarieton for the Dollar General Store due to community concerns. Residents had expressed concerns at both the Commissioners meeting and Area Planning meetings about the store. Residents say that the proposed site of the new store will have negative impacts on property values, safety concerns, and affecting neighborhood quality of life. The decision on the rezoning will take place at the next County Commissioners meeting on November 12, at 9:00 a.m.
