West Terre Haute, In. – The Vigo County Solid Waste Management Office has closed the recycling center in West Terre Haute. They say that people dumped garbage into the recycling bins which caused contamination and required the entire contents of the bins to be sent to the landfill which is an expense they cannot afford. The Vigo County Solid Waste Management Office wants to provide a recycling center for the West Terre Haute area but until they can find a location that can be monitored for proper usage the center will remained closed. West Terre Haute area residents can still use the 3 other recycling centers in the county.
