Terre Haute, In. – Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun says the city has demolish 89 condemned properties in the city this year. In past years the average has been 40 to 60. The increase in demolitions is due to fact that now there’s a condemned hear every 3 months instead of once a year as in the past. The mayor says that data shows Terre Haute is growing, we are coming back. He says continuing to get rid of these blighted properties will strengthen Terre Haute. Right now, the plan is to take down 30 more condemned houses this winter.
