Arrests Made In Clinton Mower Shop break-in

Clinton, In. – On December 4th the Clinton City Police Department took a report of a break in and theft at M&M Mower shop.  The owners of the shop say that around $9,000 worth of equipment was taken including chainsaws, leaf blowers and chop saws.  The Vermillion County Sheriff’s office is handling the investigation. On December 7th with the help of the Paris Illinois Police Department a chainsaw and backpack leaf blower was recovered at a residence in Paris.  A resident of the home was found to have a Edgar County warrant and was arrested.  On December 12th, following up on a tip, the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department, working with the Terre Haute Police Department and the U.S. Marshall’s tracked down a person in Terre Haute who had possession of several of the stolen tools and had a warrant for his arrest out of Clark County, Illinois.  He was found hiding in his residence and arrested. He was also found in possession of methamphetamine. So far Deputies have recovered a stolen chain saw, backpack leaf blower and Briggs and Stratton engine. Deputies are still trying to locate 2 Stihl concrete chop saws and a Stihl chainsaw.
