Terre Haute, In. Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun used social media to announce the city’s plan for street repaving in 2025. He says the budget for paving has increased to $3 million for 2025. The city’s investment will be $1.5 million with a match of $1.5 million from the Community Crossing Grant. Sakbun says 15 streets listed in the proposed project, which also includes other infrastructure projects.
Terre Haute Mayor’s Office
A new year means new paving projects around the city. Here is our paving plan for 2025, listed out with the streets getting done. We are looking forward to increased road funding through the Community Crossing Grants Program and gaming revenue. In 2025, we will see a 50% increase in paving efforts. Thank you to outgoing Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana State Legislature for the improved funding in 2025. I hope to see future grant funding opportunities for infrastructure with the incoming administration.
The full project list will be out for bid this winter.

While this is a step in the right direction, as a community we have further to go in street improvements. Multiple traffic studies and street improvement planning documents will be finished this year. In 2024, we started a planning project funded through a federal grant called the Safe Streets for All Grant. This plan will allow us to apply for additional funding from the federal level to improve our streets.
