Indianapolis, In. – In a party Caucus held in Rockville Tuesday night Vermillion County Commissioner Tim Yocum was selected to fill the House District 42 seat that opened when incumbent Alan Morrison resigned after being appointed by Gov. Mike Braun to serve as the new director of the Department of Natural Resources. Yocum ran against Morrison in the Republican Primary last year. Yocum, 65, works for Duke Energy in operations, although he will be taking a leave of absence to serve in the General Assembly. He also has served as Vermillion County Republican Party chair. District 42 includes all of Parke and Vermillion counties and portions of Vigo, Fountain and Clay counties.
