Vigo County, In. – Earlier this week, Melvin Scott, a former Terre Haute Parks maintenance worker was sentenced to 40 years in prison after he admitted to two counts of child molestation. Last year a woman told police that she believed Scott sexually assaulted two girls.  When police interviewed Scott, he admitted that he might have accidentally inappropriately touched the girls.  He also admitted to having child pornography on his phone. His sentence calls for Scott to serve 30 years in prison, followed by 10 years on formal probation.
