
Dana, Indiana – The Friends of Ernie Pyle is receiving a $50,000 grant from the Vermillion County Community foundation. The Grant money will used for major improvements at the Ernie Pyle and Veterans Memorial Park in Dana. This funding will enhance the park’s accessibility and visitor experience by adding ADA-compliant restrooms, statues, gardens and more. When completed, the park will not only benefit Dana and Vermillion County but also attract visitors from the broader region. It will serve as both a destination and a venue for concerts and community gatherings. Ernie Pyle was a famous WWII news correspondent born in Dana. Pyle died from a Japanese sniper bullet on a small South Pacific in 1945.
