Vigo County, In. – Shortly after 10pm Thursday Vigo County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call concerning gunshot wounds in northern Vigo County.  They found a male and a female suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived.  The male was dead, and the female was severely injured and was transported to the hospital in Indianapolis. The deceased male was identified as 48-year-old Mark Gayer of Terre Haute. The female victim is 33-year-old Meagen Anderson.  The deputy’s investigation led them to suspect. The Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Terre Haute Police Department’s SWAT Team. The SWAT Team arrived on scene and attempted to initiate communication with those believed to be inside and after several hours those inside the residence surrendered without incident.  Arrested was 18-year-old Joshua Torpy of Terre Haute.  He was charged with murder and attempted murder.  As the investigation continued an additional arrest was made. 22-year-old Kyle Peretti of Terre Haute was arrested.  He was charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Assisting a Criminal. Both suspects are in the Vigo County jail.
