Terre Haute Man Leads Police on Pursuit Through Lafayette Driving A Hearse

Lafayette, In. – On Friday, an Indiana State Police Trooper observed a hearse displaying flashing red and white lights traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Sagamore Parkway in Lafayette.  The driver also disregarded a red light.  The trooper attempted a traffic stop but the driver wouldn’t pull over. The hearse eventually pulled over, but the driver ignored verbal commands from the police officer. The driver was 39-year-old Herman Gray of Terre Haute.  He was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement and InLend/Permit Use of a Driver’s License. The State Police did not release any information as to why Gray was driving a hearse in Lafayette.  The police report does not mention why Gray was driving a Hearst in Lafayette.
