Terre Haute, In. – Last October the Vigo County Judges issued a mandate to raise the pay rate for court employees. According to the judges the Vigo County Court Employees are underpaid compared to those in other counties who handle lower volumes of work. The Vigo County Council did not act on the mandate which resulted in the Indiana Supreme Court assigning retired jurist Steven David to serve as mediator. The County Council will hold a public meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Vigo County, Annex, 121 Oak St. In the meeting announcement it was mentioned that negotiations have produced a proposed settlement agreement.
