
Vermillion County, In. – At 6:45 Wednesday morning Vermillion County Sheriff Deputies and the Indiana State Police responded to a report of a report of a man pointing a firearm at another individual. When officers arrived, a man came out of the house with a gun. The Vermillion County Sheriff requested assistance from the Terre Haute Police Department’s Special Response Team. When they arrived, the man was outside the home with a gun. When he pointed the gun at officers one of the officers shot the man. The Police trauma team immediately provided medical aid. The man was taken to hospital in Clinton where he died from his wound. He was identified as 57-year-old Michael Landers od Dana, In. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave, which is customary in officer-involved shootings. Indiana State Police Detectives continue to investigate the case.
