Terre Haute, In. – The 2024 Special Olympics will be held this weekend on the Campus of Indiana State University in Terre Haute. Over 2,300 Special Olympians and staff will be participating. With them will be family members and other spectators of the games. Getting set up for the games is a huge undertaking and again this year prisoners from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle are providing manpower to help set of for the Special Olympic games. The Special Olympics official kick off with the Parade of Athletes this evening at 7pm in Hulman Center. Local residents are urged to welcome the visitors to our community and support the Special Olympian athletes as they compete this weekend.
