City Council OK’s New City Flag Design

Terre Haute, In. – The Terre Haute City Council met last week in a regular meeting.  Some of the business the council tackled were a revision to the city code to ensure Terre Haute stays in compliance when it comes to storm water discharge into the sewers.  The also approved $250,000 from the American Rescue Plan funds to Goodwill’s Excel Center. Also approved at the meeting was the design for a new city flag.  After many designs were submitted to a special Facebook page that received 64 designs from 37 different artists. City residents were invited to vote for their favorite among five finalists. Out of 1,607 votes, a design by Kris Toney of the Vigo County Public Library won by a single vote.
