Terre Haute, In. – In 2020 Jacob Rentauskas was involved in a police chase in which he shot at police. Rentauskas crashed his vehicle and the prosecutor said burglarized a business to steal another one. Tuesday Rentauskas pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder, Burglary, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon. Rentauskas has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. The prosecutor’s office issued a statement that said “Our policy is that every serious violent felon possessing a firearm must go to prison. And for those that shoot at our officers, a 25-year prison sentence is appropriate,”
