Dana, In. – The Ernie Pyle Museum in Dana, Indiana will receive a “short snorter” this weekend.  A short snorter is a 1-dollar bill signed by Pyle, and other WWII era celebrities including Boxer Jack Dempsy and actor Jackie Cooper.  The presentation will be made tomorrow at 5:30 pm on the main stage during the Ernie Pyle Firemen’s Festival in Dana.  Dr. Angie Bethel of Carmel is donating the artifact on behalf of her parents. Doyle and Elvie “Bobbie” Bethel.  Bobbie received the signed dollar bill years ago in change from a purchase she made. Noticing the handwriting on the bill, she set it aside rather than spending it.
