Terre Haute, In. – New Vigo County Sheriff Derk Fell swore in all of the county’s school protection officers Tuesday. The 38 officers have gone through training to be able to keep the students and staff safe as possible. Sheriff Fell says that school safety is at the top of his priority list. Having the officer in the schools also gives students the chance to interact with them and see police officers in a positive light.
