Vigo County, In. – Yesterday a vehicle traveling westbound on I-70 near the 17-mile marker experienced a mechanical failure that resulted in the vehicle catching fire.  The driver was able to get the vehicle on to the shoulder and all passengers were able to safely get out of the car.  The Jackson Township Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire, and the vehicle was towed from the highway.  Traffic was slowed during the cleanup, but the interstate remained open.
