Brazil, In. – It was May of 2023 that Jon McGuff was arrested for shooting William Matherly of Brazil 4 times in the chest.  After a lengthy trial process McGuff filed a plea deal pleading guilty of voluntary manslaughter.  The court agreed to his plea offer dismissing the murder charge and the charge of unlawfully carrying a handgun.  McGuff was sentenced to 20 years in prison minus the time he’s already served while awaiting trial.  McGuff was also fined $10, $189 in costs and the $100 public defenders’ fee. The court awarded the murdered man family $12,000 in restitution.
