Terre Haute, In. – Thursday morning local law officials held a joint press conference to address the numerous threats in area schools. In all seven arrests have been made as a result of these threats. Prosecutor Terry Modisitt said that these juveniles are facing harsh consequences with charges of felony intimidation and misdemeanor harassment which carries a maximum sentence of two and a half years in prison. The student arrested at Sarah Scott faces an additional charge of false informing. Vigo County School Corporation Superintendent Chris Himsel says that the schools are safe, and that the safety of the students remains top priority. Officials say this is not an isolated trend, there have been reported threats across the country.
