Terre Haute, In. – The Herz-Rose Park near 15th and Locust streets is scheduled for a redesign to revitalize the park and encourage more community use. A Groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday for the project. The redesign of the park will cost around $3 million and will be funded through the American Rescue Plan Act.  The plan for the park will include a new playground area, splash pads, refurbished basketball courts, picnic shelters, and a community event space.  A piece of artwork from “Art Spaces” will surround the splash pad.  It will be an archway made up of hand prints from community members. Officials hope to have the project completed in the next 12 to 16 months.
