Terre Haute, In. – Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt says he would like to see the Indiana Legislature increase the penalties for reckless homicide.  Modesitt voiced his concerns after the recent case of a 12-year-old boy died after an adult provided an unknown liquid substance for the boy to drink which resulted in the boy’s death. Modesitt has made suggestions to the Legislature in the past to increase the penalties. Modesitt disagrees with Reckless Homicide being a Level 5 which is punishable by up to a six-year sentence.  He believes it should be a level 4.
